Mainstream Renewable Power said Friday that along with its consortium partners Ocean Winds and Statkraft, it has signed a deal with Aker Solutions ASA to collaborate on the Utsira Nord wind project off Norway’s western coast.
Mainstream, Ocean Winds and Statkraft are in a consortium to pursue an application to develop floating wind power at Utsira Nord in 2023. Together with Aker Solutions, they will develop technologies which include design, construction, fabrication and installation initiatives and other innovative solutions, and new technology to lower costs, Mainstream said.
The collaboration aims to further develop capabilities across the Norwegian supply chain and strengthen Norway’s competitiveness in floating wind, it said.
Mainstream Renewable Power is a renewable-energy company majority-owned by Aker Horizons AS.
